As I was making Lemongrass Soap today, I definitely sliced my finger… But that’s okay, because it gave me some time to make this blog! I plan to continue researching properties of oils and oil blends, so I will post my findings here.
So for today…. Lemongrass soap.
So let’s hear the praise:
Livestrong.com says that lemongrass essential oil is both “antiseptic and antibacterial” and that it is great for tension headaches.
Organicfacts.net also says that lemongrass essential oils has these other benefits: “Helps cure cellulite, fungal infections and digestive problems and reduces excessive perspiration.”
But not all the news is good:
Using lemongrass by itself can be irritating to skin. It’s best to dilute the oil or use an “carrier” oil such as olive or grape seed oil. Do NOT use when pregnant.
Also, I’m not completely sold on the fragrance… sometimes it can have too strong of a fragrance. I like to mix it with regular lemon essential oil.
Lemongrass Essential Oil goes fine with essential oils of Basil, Cedar Wood, Coriander, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Lavandin and Tea Tree.
