Ginger is such a versatile essential oil! Most know that it is wonderful for stomach aches, but Ginger essential oil has many other uses.
What does Ginger essential oil smell like?
While the aroma of Ginger EO varies, I find it is very spicy, earthy, and warm. It is definitely something that you’ll want to blend with lighter notes and/or other spice oils.
What can I use Ginger essential oil for?

- Muscle aches
Bergamot, cedarwood, clove, coriander, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, jasmine, juniper, lemon, lime, mandarin, neroli, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, vetiver, ylang ylang (Mountain Rose Herbs)
Ginger was used primarily in ancient Chinese remedies dealing with moisture retention/imbalances. It has also been used in perfumery to provide an “oriental” note.
Ginger is pain relieving, an expectorant, anti inflammatory, warming, anti-bacterial and considered to be an aphrodisiac by some.
Ginger may be phototoxic, so keep out of sunlight. Use diluted as it may irritate sensitive skin.

- 2 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil
- 1 drop Lemongrass essential oil
