I just have to say, the more I use Bummis diapers, the more I love them. This post is not sponsored in any way, though I did receive the DuoBrite Delux AI2 System as a group of testers. This review reflects my own honest opinions.
I’ve been using this system for about two months now and I am extremely impressed. I started my cloth diapering journey with BumGenius, Flip, and a few no-namers, but I finally feel like I have graduated to greener pastures when I switched to Bummis.
Bummis Duo Brite inserts and covers are pretty easy to prep. Simply wash the inserts three times and the cover once. I found that my inserts met their full capacity after about 5 washes.
These inserts (three come with the DuoBrite system), are super absorbent and can work with practically any diaper (pockets, covers, etc.) My favorite part about the inserts is that they are double sided. The side that rests against babies’ skin is organic cotton while the bottom layer is polyester which wicks away moisture.
Note to the user: don’t mix up the sides!! I did this once and the polyester side definitely held its weight in pee. Baby V was really not happy with me that day.
Check out the inserts below:
These inserts are my go-to when it comes to outings because they are trim but can hold a lot of liquid! Baby V is an extremely heavy wetter, so absorbent inserts are very important to us.
Next, the diaper cover. It’s very durable and takes a beating. It also has an awesome “leak guard” built in. The inserts snap right into the covers so they stay in place to further prevent leaks. Simply wipe down the cover when it’s time for a change and fill with another insert. I’ve used a few different inserts in these covers and everything seems fit okay.
Here’s how they snap:
And here’s how everything looks in place:
Now Baby V is a small guy, but we’re using size 2 covers (Bummis DuoBrites come in size 1 and 2). Baby V is 11 months and a little over 20 lbs., so we use the built in snaps to make the diaper a little more snug. However, I love the fact that we can unsnap the diaper as he grows. I feel like this system will definitely last us until potty training.
It is also very trim when everything is in place, as evidenced by this cute bum:
My husband, who is a little less experienced when it comes to cloth diapers, always chooses Bummis out of our stash. I think he feels confident that there will be no leaks and that this system is super easy for him to figure out. It’s as simple as snap and go.
If you’re new to cloth diapering or looking for something for a heavy wetter, I would definitely suggest giving Bummis a try.
And of course, as all Bummis products, this system is “made here”! Bummis products are made in Canada from fabrics made in the USA. I love to support businesses based in the U.S and Canada and feel great about giving Bummis my dollars!
