For the past few months, I’ve been working on liquid soap.
It’s a long and arduous process that involves using a different type of lye than I’m used to. I wanted to make a liquid soap free from chemicals because I know how harsh most soaps can be.
I’ve explained several common soap ingredients and why they are potentially harmful. Here is my short list of the worst offenders, but there’s plenty more!
Needless to say, it is always easier to start from scratch and only include the things absolutely necessary to make soap. So that’s what I did! It’s expensive to make soap without caustic fillers.
My absolute favorite oils to use are Olive Oil and Coconut Oil . Those links will explain their benefits and uses when it comes to beauty products and soapmaking. To me, they make the best moisturizing soaps with great lather. They clean without drying and are sustainably produced.
